Chromatography and Spectroscopy day for Teachers and Technicians
This
course will introduce teachers and technicians to equipment at KSRC that
is available for school use.
The course is aimed at schools delivering BTEC but much of the content
will also fit with the A level syllabus. Topics covered will be theory
and practice of spectrophotometry, use of FTIR, theory and practice of a
range of chromatography techniques. |

Microbiology
Week at Kent Science Resource Centre
An
introductory course for people who want to learn some theory of
Microbiology and undertake some practical activities. The course will
be based on the practice of Food Microbiology and will follow a work
simulation of sampling and testing a range of common foods. |

Impact award available

course offers subject specific advice in how to interact more
effectively with pupils. The emphasis is on moving from levelling pupil
work to using assessment as a tool to enhance and promote learning
(including ideas that can easily be taken away and used).

enhance leadership and management skills, through examining the role of

and contacting local groups and training other technicians and teachers. |

Science Demonstrations Effective and Safe
Run
in conjunction with the Science Learning Centre South East

course focuses on the strategies and experience of presenting an
effective demonstration. The focus will be on how more exciting
experiments can be used to support the curriculum and generate
enthusiasm in pupils. The practical preparation of a number of
demonstrations will be undertaken with resourcing and safety issues will
be addressed. |
